Every student of mine is required to have a blank manuscript book, which I will provide for our first lesson. This is a critical part of how I teach. In this book, I will write (and illustrate) every lesson that we explore together. Each page will be full of individualized information. As we move on to new topics, it will be very important to have old lessons and concepts easily accessible and properly documented. As an artist, I place a lot of importance in visual literacy, so you can make sure that each lesson will be clear and concise. It will also be very useful to have all of our lessons and reference material located in one convenient place.
Below are some images of pages found within the books of my students. These are just examples of what certain lessons and topics might look like. Every student’s book(s) will eventually be filled with dozens of exercises, charts, scales, music theory, chord progressions, and other varied musical concepts.
